Clear as Mud - Voting For Clean Water

Can you name the public agency that disinfects and pumps the storm and waste water of more than 10 million people, uses more ComEd energy than any other entity, and plays a strategic role in the fight to stop invasive species from encroaching on Lake Michigan?

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is little known but systemically important to Chicago's pursuit of a more vibrant future. With a primary election for Commissioners of MWRD on March 20, it has never been more important for sustainability-engaged citizens to get to know the environmental platforms of the candidates.

Come to this special "Commissioner Candidate Forum" at Green Drinks to learn how they will address Chicago's most pressing water-related issues, communicate your own priorities and questions, and leave empowered to vote for who will best secure a bright future for Chicago's water.

All of the candidates have been invited to participate. Stella Black, Patricia Horton, Karen Roothaan, Debra Shore, Kari Steele, Patrick Thompson, and Patricia Young have already accepted our invitation. Don't miss this opportunity to actively shape Chicago's water future.
